SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY SYNDROME (SARS)
-Atypical pneumonia caused by Corona virus
- note for recent history of travel where there is an incident SARS and exposure to a person with SARS
Incubation Period: 2-7 days
Characterized by: fever, flu-like symptoms and dyspnea
- suspects/contacts are placed under quarantine
- use personal protective equipments and mask N95
SYPHILIS
- Infection caused by Treponema Pallidum
Mode of Transmission: sexual contact, blood transfusion, contaminated needles, placental transmission
Incubation Period: 10-90 days
Clinical Manifestations:
- Primary: Chancre - small painless pimple like ulceration on the penis, labia majora and minora and lips
- Secondary: Condylomata - moist popular eruption of palms and soles of feet
- Tertiary: Gumma - necrotic
